Somewhere between
no place special and
nowhere fast the last
of mankind’s honor
lies bleeding and
alone.
The receding tide
of ignorance carries
a crimson warning
that I fear will be
unheeded by future
generations of neocons
bowing before greed’s
unholy altar.
Arise and cast away
your golden calf
for in death the
breath of eternity
pays no heed to
souls blinded by
prosperity's lies
but in eyes alive
with compassion,
longing for a better
world
