This Poem is Drunk
Tiny teenage tokes,
taking swigs of Old Style Pilsner,
in brown bottles,
wrapped in my vision landscape.
I close my eyes and
wish for
summer nights &
a deck &
warm lakes &
warm skin &
no shoes &
no tomorrows &...
tonite?
Inside'll do,
I hear riffs in
a tavern
from blue collared ghosts of
high school
sweethearts,
who grew up
real guy
stronghearts.
And together,
we are
still
singing the
same
hometown
song.
....and then they covered this!
...and EVERYBODY sang!
