Stardust
A friend turned to me once and said
We are only stardust
And I thought about that, a lot.
What even is stardust?
It isn't alive,
It doesn't have thought
and yet I am made from it
And I think I like that notion.
Because when you weigh it up
What would you rather?
To think and feel is a gift
they told me.
But we all know it's just chemicals
And I know my feelings are just stardust
But if reality is my perception
And my perception is made from stardust
Then you really are my whole world
and that really is crushing.
