I was driving down the highway
In the pitch black of the night
When  off in the distance
I saw the flashing lights

As I came upon the scene
Wreckage was tossed across the road in parts
The Rescue Crews were there
Trying to revive a broken heart

I slowly moved pass the scene
Wondering if anyone had survived
It was such a terrible mess
I prayed that no one died

I drove a little further
Till I came to a big town
People were sleeping on street corners
A sign that life had beat them down

Everywhere I looked
The more wreckage I did see
The police were busy
With human wreckage of defeat

Tears of a broken heart
Divorce, separation, alcoholism,drug addiction
A smorgasboard of parts
Of unwanted delicacies
All signs of Wreckage of the Human Heart

We seek answers
Psychiatrist rush to mend
But can they,
Put Humpty Dumpty back together again

The Wreckage of the Human Heart
Society is its melting ***
And what we do and how we handle it
Determines whether we survive or rot
