She doesn't need to love me
She's never had to love before
She hadn't felt that gap others feel
Everyone else has this hole
Only to be filled by drinking, drugs, or love
She's missing this common human need
She loves her daily routine, she loves her family
She has the grades, she has her life figured out
She doesn't need me
She isn't missing anything
But how desperately I long for her
In a life a little less perfect, my hole is visible to those who look
But she doesn't look because she doesn't need
And that's the hardest part
Convincing the satisfied that they need more
