It's as if i was a tree
A split seed birthed a sapling
Surrounded by weeds
Chosen by the keep
Nurtured and watered
Told to the skies i was free
And as i grew
I realized my reach
All was within
My branches leaved
Rings gave birth to bees
I expanded
High
Until my bark the sun bleached
And the rays through my veins seeped
I burned
Charred
My father weeped
Through my fibers
Gravity eats
Roots
Like fingers
Fight to keep
Their sodded sleep
Crooked
I barely stand
A portrait of desolance
Overrun by weeds
My rotted wood
A worm-ed feast
Where are you keep
My roots slink east
Rid me of disease
After the plight
Of many sinking suns
And fervent pleas
I ask not for the strongest bark
Nor emerald leaves
I am weak
I only seek peace
