I do not know how to write poems about you
words of you escape my peeling lips
and it's *******
scary

i do not know how to write about
the colour of your eyes
i don't understand they're
literally every ******* colour of
the rainbow
you're every colour of the ******* rainbow

i can't breathe i can't breathe i can't breathe
how are you the hand over my mouth and
the inhaler giving me breath
i can't breathe i can't breathe i can't breathe
i don't understand

i do not know how to write poems about you
you're indescribable
the way you call me “love” even though
i hate when people call me “love”
i don't hate when you call me “love”
i well...love it

i don't understand

i do not know how to write poems about you and
all my pens are drying out because
i don't want to write about anything else
i look at you like the half blood prince needs to give me a textbook to
figure out your dark arts
i look at you like the sun and the moon and the stars
hide themselves at the back of your mouth
and behind your eyes the galaxy sighs
and in your fingertips spaceships hum
searching searching searching
for a signal to bring you home
i want to be your home

i don't understand

i do not know how to write poems about you
i'm nobody's hero but i want to be yours
i want to be yours i want to be yours i want to be yours

i don't understand
