Sacrifice

by @Weird-Fishes

A sky his throne, he sits majestic Over a world of indifferent subjects. With a power to rise or sink the world He rules the Earth that he gives life to. But his reign is halted after noon By his queen, lit by the sun: the Moon. She rises as her loves descends To light the way for those lost in gloom. She commands the waters of the sea, In an infinite darkness, she beams From the light of her ceaseless lover, She watches the Earth. She, its mother. The mythical tale of endless love; Of the suns sacrifice, to give life To the moon. He gives breathe, she gives hope, He gives day, then dies to give her night. She sees out dreams, he sees them unfold. The sun sees our lives; the moon, our souls.
