may I tell you when I look into your eyes, I see a light
with such a glow of a future , of love and delight
when I reach for your heart, you cup your hand over it
as your finger softly touches my lips and you whisper
this is not the time for this, my emotions have disappeared

then I will bide my time, like the roots of a dormant rose
and wait for the spring thaw, to entice you once more
and as the warming of the sun, wills my petals open
I will grace you with my fragrance of forever love
