The pores sink deeper into my skin
Each one shines like those stars
randomly scattered across the darkened sky
deceiving all who wish upon them

All hopes and dreams diminish
Those stars cant grant wishes
Like a gene in a lamp
All they do is lie

When you wish upon a star
You hope it will hear you
But you don’t think twice
Because that star may be deaf

All you see is the light through its pores
But in the deep depths, if u were to travel
To see this very star you would find it dead
No longer producing light

I am like a star, I shine through the darkness
But, you see, im a dead star,
only deceiving all who place their wishes on me
Im a covered lie of irony, don’t try to find the hope in me.
