Monsters are those from which I came
They spit venom and screech with no thought
Human they are not, it seems to me,
To treat another alike, no man ought

Through quivering ears I heed the howls
Of the creatures as I lay
Pray that I shall never wake
As one of these monsters one frightful day

For my mind simply cannot comprehend
How, if human, can one hear himself shriek
In a way which only monsters speak?
