Young vs. Old
The young contend
With broken hearts.
The old must cope
With rusting parts.
The young feel time
Barely moving.
The old feel time
In bones disapproving.
The young stop
In front of mirrors.
The old move back
To make things clearer.
The young focus
On acquisitions.
The old release
Past ambitions.
The young, if lucky,
Transition elders.
The old will then
Be Elysian selders.
* selder:Β Β From Middle High German, selder 'dweller in a hut or peasant's cottage.
