giving, losing

All those times we used the words, Was it ever real for you? Cause I meant it every time. I should have seen it coming That look in your eyes Like you saw something that you wanted Not someone you needed. I know I knew deep down Felt the truth behind your touch. But I wanted to believe In your tricksters smile In your honeyed words It was too late The deal had been made I was past love’s event horizon And so each day I give a piece of myself To your indifference Your hollow words Does it keep you awake at all? The way you crushed the fragile parts inside me? What you were willing to take? I’m so tired now Of being broken Of loving you
