You loved the worst of me
And I took the best of you.
Like a selfish bandit
I stole your light and hid
It under my anger and
Sadness.
I doused your smile
With fear and worry.

But you kept giving.

And I kept taking.

I took and took
Until I found myself
Full.

Full of **** and loathing.

Every morning you gave me warmth
And every night I gave you
Darkness.

But you kept giving.

And I kept taking.

I wrapped hatred in a blanket
Of love.
Softened the barbs with kisses
And sweet nothings.
I gave nothing.

I kept giving.

And you kept taking.
