The Storm
I heard the sound of raindrops
Watched them gather on the glass
For so many days and nights
I waited for the storm to pass
From the distance came the thunder
The sky exploded with the sound
The lightning played a deadly game
Striking random all around
Wind howled it's way through treetops
Pushing them aside ...
As creatures ran for cover
To find a place in which to hide
As i watched a small brown sparrow
Took heedlessly to flight
As if to challenge mother nature
Caught in predicamented plight
But nature wins all battles
Like teardrops ..rain ran down the glass
For so many days and nights
I waited for the storm to pass.
