I wake up to a smile on your face and a soft good morning kiss
We lay there for what seems like a peaceful eternity
Lost in each other's embrace we are us
Regardless of the silly fight that took place the night before
We weren't suppose to fall in love but we did
And I don't regret one minute of our lives together
I twirl the ring on my finger as I slip on your T-shirt
I take in the scent of Old Spice and look out the window.

We may not have more than a mattress on the floor,
A small coffee ***, some food in the cabinets,
Clothes on our backs, and an old truck,
But we make it work.

Livin' paycheck to paycheck,
Survivin' on love, faith, and happiness
You say I'm sorry that I can't give you more...
I just smile and tell you its okay that being with you is more than enough.

We stand in front of the mirror in our room and promise...
We will make this work and we won't give up.
This is us and this is our life...

*We smile when we see us
A dedication to my wonderful other half. I love you <3
