Her chin tilted slightly to the left,
Hands poised, Body perfectly still
The only moving thing,
A vision before her eyes,
Memories of the past, she held dear in her heart
Her eyes crinkling at the sides, lips shifting into a smile
Then a shadow, sparking terror and devastation
Her body shifted in her chair uncomfortably in response,
She had been foolish to the think she had found peace,
The darkness would always loom over her,
No matter how far she ran, or how well she hid,
It found her,
festering and feasting on the little light she kept
