Hell broke loose
and a wolf
sunk it's teeth
deep into my calf
I staggered away
but the wolf,
steadfastly became
part of my body
-an extremity
the pain of the bite subsided
and the wolf,
as I became
wild and animalistic,
became civilized
he loosened his grip
and we parted
