They pulled her to the shore and out of the water
Weak and hollow
Feeling as if nothing ever mattered.
He was gone,
and it was time for her to follow

As the air came back into the sullen lungs
she could realize
This was not were she belongs.
life had clung inside her
Not wanting to let go.

Laying right in front of her
a shell
twisted, spiraled and Eroded.
Damaged by life, as it does to us all.
realizing
That we can be mended,
we mend each other.

After all this time
It still seems to her that there is only one way out.
She chose the shore
the shore blows, but she chose it.
