I want to run to every rooftop in the world
Not to yell and proclaim my presence
I just want to soak in the sights and the sounds
Get a taste of the world oh so profound
And to stimulate all of my senses

I’m amused and bemused by the multitudes
Soaked in different cultures and customs
Inherently found with a different framework of mind
And yet… There’s a common place that we come from

I am not satisfied
When you tell me that the air that I breathe
Has been breathed across the world
I want to be out there
Where dust is forced from footsteps to lungs
Or where the ocean’s taste fills my nostrils
These cannot be equated
To the conditioned air of a machine

Take me to the musty hallways
Marking a legacy grown stagnant
The aroma is the quiet of an era long gone
Take me to the libraries filled with books
That reek of knowledge on paper

Take me where my eyes cannot believe
Where nature’s might is still truly evident
Or take me where buildings defy olden beliefs
Where man’s ingenuity is undeniably present

Let me see how wide and far this world stretches
Let me breathe in the knowledge and the madness
I want to know what I am by where I can be
I want to know what I am by how the world sees me
