It is a little alarming
And frankly quite disarming
To find yourself asleep
Without a friend, a peep
Alone

You see a couple walking
And you find yourself a-gawking
At that love you once found sappy
You wish you were that happy
Alone

Lunchtime comes and goes
Friends come in throes and throes
But none you find are yours
Thanks to a schedule one abhors
Alone

Alone, alone, alone
You seem so grief-blown
You soon begin to ponder
“What made me feel,” you wonder,
“So alone?”
