'Another shot of love'

I've crossed the world a dozen times
By wing and wheel and wave
I've woken up in strange girl's beds
And fell asleep in caves

I've sung my songs in brothels
I've watched rich men leaving poor
I've taken virtue in my home town
And I've taken it in your's

Ya see
I'm the lonely troubadour
You don't need to know my name
I don't  need to know just why  I leave
Only that I came
In every place I get to
Whether from below or from above
I'll ask the batman 'kindly sir '
For another shot of love.

Give me one more chance at love
Before my time has passed
I still believe she'll come along
No need to wash my glass
And if  I  end my days alone
And a guitar's all I got
I'll be thankful for the life I led
And for another shot.
