If I asked would you meet me
in that old familiar place
once more to hear your voice
once more to see you face

Or would it be too much for you
to see me once again
to hear the difference in my voice
in my eyes to see the pain

I doubt you'd even answer
and perhaps that would be best
If your plan is to forget
and lay the past to rest.
