I’ve had heartache, or rather, I’ve had heart crumble fall to the ground get stomped and trampled on break. Trying to pick up those pieces you’re hands aren’t big enough to hold and when you spread your fingers to try and hold more…the pieces just fall through the holes. Yeah, I’ve had that too. That hurt in your chest saying goodbye wanting a final, “I love you,” with a gentle kiss. The moment he has walked away and you realize your heart is shattered on the ground no longer pumping blood but somehow you are still unthankfully alive. Yeah, I’ve had that too. The crying till you are completely falling among a broken world. Your tears not enough to wash it all away. Then suddenly someone comes along…the hero. Trying to push him away, but you are too weak, and honestly you know that an extra pair of hands would help. Yeah, I’ve been there as well. When he finally helps you get the pieces back together, but there is always one that is missing. He puts a new piece in your hand, but it is so strange and unfamiliar. You push, shove, yell for it to go away. Yeah, now I remember. How you shoved so hard he just went away, thinking you didn’t need him after all. You start to walk, but there is still that hole in your chest that hurts every time the wind blows. You feel alone and then you start to realize the hero…he was the one that really loved you. Yeah, I know how that goes. When you call and can’t find him, begging for that precious piece. You sit on the floor and cry and suddenly he is by your side to pull you up off the ground again. The heart beat between you, the piece fit perfectly. Finally blood through your veins, alive, and now, your hands aren’t big enough to capture all the love from him. Yeah…that’s what I missed. He moved on.
