Dec 2013
Close by the door he paused to stand
As he took her class ring off of her hand,
And all who watched couldn't speak
As a single tear rolled down his cheek.
Memories of the moments they had
As they laughed and ran beneath the sun,
Remember how she was so free.
How she hurt him
She could not see.
Her ocean blue eyes had turned so cold.
He would no longer have her to hold.
He whispered, "I love you," as he bent near
But the words were so soft no one could hear.
He said, "Goodbye," as he gave her a kiss.
This special girl would be dearly missed.
The door closed and his head hung low,
As they carried her casket across the snow.
