'When someone asks you about yourself, you always turn towards your friend for help' my philosophy teacher said,
I'm rather bad at talking about myself,
and find it quite difficult to recall all the things I have ever done that anyone else might be interested in,
there is an irony in your personal statement, being one of the least personal things you will ever write,
formal and distant,
forced to sound nothing like myself
