The Shape of Staying

by Christabelxo

Love isn't always grand gestures or words that sound like poetry. Sometimes it's a simple conversation, a familiar smile, or someone remembering the little things you thought no one noticed. It's staying through misunderstandings, choosing kindness after difficult days, and finding comfort in a single presence. Perhaps that's the shape of staying not perfection, not passion alone, but the quiet decision to keep choosing each other, again, and again.

Notes

I dedicate this poem to Ma Chérie,

the one who reminds me that love is not found in grand gestures alone, but in patience, understanding, and the quiet choice to stay. Thank you for being a source of warmth, comfort, and light, and for showing me the beauty that exists in simply being there for one another.

With love and gratitude.
