...

The three dots appear

If they linger too long

You care too much

If they are fleeting

You don’t care at all

They blink and wait

A many eyed creature

The caretaker of the beast inside me

Whispering all the possibilities

The terrible truth

What if the puppeteer

Behind those dots

Simply doesn’t care

And so I’ll stare

Into those 3 grey eyes

And imagine they are alive

Blinking in the bright glow

Emanating from the rectangle

That connects me to you

Does it really matter

How long they linger?

Notes

As an anxious person, I tend to read far too much into little things. I guess we’re all puppeteers of other’s emotions, I’ll let you decide how to use that power.
