The King’s Birthday

For the King’s birthday

We could buy him some new clothes —-

He's waited so long for his inheritance

He's lost his grit and froze;

His kingdom’s left him, lacking wisdom and charm,

Too late, past his prime, he rose.

Would I be charged for treason?

For pointing out this king has no courage, no purpose and no clothes?

This may be controversial. I am not a republican or against the Monarch but this poem, prompted by his birthday, has me pondering and hoping for a quick succession to William and Kate.
