Unsaid.

You spoke in just a glance

And you breathed a certain way

The shift was almost nothing

But I felt it anyway

“Now is not the time”

Were the words you left unsaid

In the absence of your presence

I heard you in my head

But you made up for the silence

When you were reaching back for me

You invited me into safety

And I felt that I was seen

Your arms were all it took

To silence racing thoughts

In our five seconds of connection

You restored what I had lost

I thought our film was over

But you showed we're only paused

That we'd pick up once again

Once the pressure's finally off

You assured me we were safe

That nothing's really changed

That the distance of that night

Was only just a break

Cause it takes more than distance

To shake us from our faith

I’m not giving up on you

I'm just giving you your space

Our movie is full of previews

And their plots all sound the same

But I'm still staying in my seat

Until the opening frame

I'll keep watching all our trailers

Even when they're kinda lame

Cause I'd rather watch our movie

But you tell me when it plays

A love letter written in the language that only the girl it's written for speaks. Thank you K. for making me feel seen. You've already shown me you're the girl worth waiting for.
