When The Smoke And Gunpowder Scent Clears

Once upon a time was the reason for your smile How did we adjourn up here fractured like porcelain tile? The mountains did plenty they could do to guide our path Yet we can hardly bring ourselves to force a laugh And sky threatens to fall hanging over our heads Precariously dangling from a few fragile threads Frozen fantasies suspended in front of our view Reflections hardened like that of a statue Poverty constant obstacle always in the way Longing to be more than just barely okay With perspective so critical it's challenging to find peace Striving desperately to make the fear and friction cease Wilderness uncharted fills both with doubt At each other's throats we'll never reach a way out Steering around insults you indifferently spoke How you always pick the most sensitive buttons to poke Icebergs on fire in the middle of my soul The moment we touch sparks make me lose all control Feelings flow freely like words from my pen Anger mixes with adoration All my emotions blend Desolation experienced after every fight Dissipates soon as you hold me close at night Front-row seat to a firework show lighting above After the gunpowder and colors fizzle what happens to our love?
