Naked Prayer

God, I want You in a way that feels more real and undeniable

but even if I don't feel, you're still reliable

you know i don’t like how quiet this has been.

When I still have a liar and a riot deep within

And what about this near total absence of clarity

Or how I only hear you sparingly

Maybe its me. I must confess that something in me still resists your ways

Of molding of holding of unfolding your grace

If it's still pride in shifting masks, let it break

Just don't leave me here if nearer you can take

You have kept and carried as I've sought you

Even as I foolishly fought you

But I cry out for encounter, nothing but you

Again I seek a warm embrace and a “boy, I got you”
