You are the rain.

In the puddles I see your kind blue eyes

Looking into mine

In the lightning's gold veins I see your joy

followed by the echo of your cries

When the rain slips across my lips

it's as if I can still feel yours on mine

In the soft sound of raindrops dancing on the roof

I hear your gentle laugh

And when it rained today

it felt as though you were walking beside me

That feeling made me ache

because my heart feels hollow with out yours

So I danced in the rain

to hide the pain

I spun through the puddles

and for a moment it was almost as if I were back dancing with you

As icy rain slithered down my spine

I imagined your hands resting on my hips

The song that played when we first kissed

the storm wrapped itself around me like your embrace

and it almost made it okay

that you weren't there
