One day when I'm far

One day when I'm far

From everyone I hold dear

The grief will hit me

Sudden and clear

I will miss my mom's food

I will miss teasing my dad

I will miss fighting with my sisters

And laughing like we're mad

Still I will carry on

Warm up my food

Sit on my couch

Alone in my mood

I will set my alarm for work the next morning

And go to bed

Waking up a new person

With a clearer head
