7 years

In under 7 years

I can rest knowing

that you will have

never touched me

In this skin

of mine that I wear

I will be someone

completely new

someone without

you.

without your hands

wandering my body

my curves,

whispering in my ear

how much you love me

and how that would never

change

"spread your wings"

your eyes meet mine, laughing.

"more like spread your legs"

what humor is this?

some sick joke that a girl of

fifteen is supposed to know?

In under 7 years

I can rest knowing

that you will have

never touched me

In this skin

of mine that I wear

I will be someone

completely new

someone without

you.

with someone new,

someone who cares

about me, though

I may still be learning

not

to

flinch

when I bend

down to grab something

from the floor

someone who doesn't need

their hands on me

in order to love me.

In under 7 years

I can rest knowing

that you will have

never touched me

In this skin

of mine that I wear

I will be someone

completely new

someone without

you.
