As She Wept

Watching the leaves

Fall from the trees

Their fragile edges

Break in the breeze

Nights never-ending

Chills run deep

Dreams manifest

While you’re asleep

Daylight is kind

Emotions now numb

Thoughts are confined

But darkness will come

Sadness returns

With nightfall’s embrace

Your heart grows frail

With each tear you taste

*Windswept melodies fill the air

Tormented harmonies cry in despair
