A Gravitas in Your Blight

by DarrellBaughn

Mourn w/me a little longer in the sad rising of a sun I have been waiting for you, gravity, spiced at a run, Heave the full of substance in a depth you're present The Rod & the Iron over the world of duty you spent Feel the you in all the words beautiful lips you spoke Lands deeper than expected draws to you in a stroke, Anchored in meaning a moment lifted in your breeze Pressed down, incisive bold underneath yet you tease Even in a mist, you earn your way to glisten in a more What a life you've lived lines filled with the open door Bring me in the wallows a dark desperate soul tonight Become the danger in a world a gravitas in your blight

Notes

Sometimes even when it seems all the world around me is laughing, I (we) feel a gravitas on the blurred edges of reality that threatens to subsume me (us) in the deep cave of longing, looming in the dark sad, something that threatens to pull me (us) down, and in the deep of down find you (me) unfound.
