You Were the First

You were the first stain

To fill my heart with love

Then break that heart with lies

And I am left alone

With this heart once full of love

Yet living in deep pain

You were the first rain

To fill my soul with hope

Then trap that soul in a cage

Now I am a prisoner

Once flying through the blue sky

Yet flapping my wings in pain

You were the first chain

To bind my dreams with thorns

Then drift away for your desires

Now I am left hanging

Once moving through the wind with joy

Yet hiding my tears in pain
