Naked

Consume me like your beloved pastry,

fed to your mouth with a silver spoon.

Peel back my layers, taste the angst of fire,

dissolving slow against your tongue,

savor each piece as I pray for revelation,

undress me down to the bone—

as if I’m the last thing you’ll ever devour.

Playing with fire is my language—

through fire was I born,

in silver was I forged.

Now, yield me.

Grant me my deadly wish,

sinister and silenced, intoxicated love—

addictive and pure.

Light the fuse, send me astral,

take me in breath, place us against the sun.

Give me the skies, caving in above us,

fall into the gravity of our depraved nature,

only to let us slip, like shooting stars,

burning, as we reenter from orbit—

into a precise dive, into the ocean.

Sound the depths—

no place for hesitation.

Take the dive,

knowing I was there all along,

waiting for you to see,

the naked truth of me—

silver against fire.
