My heart doesn’t beat-

it thumps,

loud, relentless,

like it wants out,

like it doesn’t belong

inside this lifeless body.

It doesn’t pump blood-

it pumps adrenaline,

keeping me on edge,

every second,

every breath.

It doesn’t feel.

It’s charred,

beyond recognition.

Can you hear it too?

Can you see it too?
