Melting angel wings on the windshield Catching hissing beetles with vinegar Hear them murmor profanity in a jar Firefly apathy withdrawing their fading yet electric glow Each season I observe less light year by cascading decade The swoon of the summer chaotic Suspended by the curse of the hourglass Skinning my eyes on simmering sunbeams blessed by euphoria Esoteric practices bring on the light Buried are the pleasures I deny myself Geometric shapes & religious ruin Displayed symbols of old capture me Books of alchemy smell of earthen dust Wireless connectivity ever pulsing- chugging like a passenger train The electricity of your heart keeps me awake & breathing Zealots are now snared by the honeypot The last breathing light of midnight comes to me in dreams Mirroring, lunar illumination grows as it crosses my windowsill My threshold holds my eternal halo in place for the moratorium O Divine Architect, looking down at me with glassy eyes Smite me with your cold, unimpressed hand
