Pretty Good

Somewhere out in the world right now

A woman is opening the door

Getting bad news as she holds her children

While somewhere in a different universe

She is welcoming her husband home

And maybe somewhere in the multiverse

He is still searching for her…

Somewhere in the world right now

A child is experiencing hunger pains

The war has taken both parents

In the meantime, in another universe

Mom and dad are safe at home

And maybe in a parallel world

Mom is in the kitchen singing songs

And dad is writing poetry under a tree…

Somewhere on earth today

Friends are in a classroom exchanging ideas

While at the same time in another universe

They’re laying on the grass in a field

Looking up at the sky dreaming dreams

But in another world, they are astronauts in space

Just passing Jupiter’s moons…

Right now, in another world

Call it heaven or paradise

Renee is holding her child with a smile

Sitting next to her wife on the sofa watching T.V.

And maybe Alex is laughing with family and friends

At a bar after another hard day of saving lives

And maybe all those we’ve lost in this world

Are somewhere across the multiverse

Living happily…

Yeah, I’d like to think that

And I think that would be pretty good
