Handling of Damage

The pelicans no longer reach you now

a desert deluge along my window perch

Tundra snow on shingles

fire cutting thresholds

Digging flamingos into basement rock

pillaging and pills ~

never thank or leave the bones

Orca whales packed for winter sludge

tossed beneath the film

breached the surface wrong

Past your magpie

morbid way ~

turning and turning your ache

in your grip until you crush it to rubble
