Some Stars Still Watch

You once looked at me

as if I hung the stars

above your sleep.

I never told you

they envied the way you made me.

Now I move softer,

moonlight pooled at my heels,

and wonder if you still dream

me into your nights.

Don’t tell me.

I’d rather pretend

your silence is devotion.
