I’m beginning to see

the monster you’ve made of me.

Twisted

from what I’ve been through—

the thing you’ve turned me into.

You held me to your chest,

promising to take away

my fear of worthlessness -

bring in a new day.

The pulling desire

to keep coming back,

Hoping things will be different

Though they were never on track

You feed on my pain,

fattening the curse.

You convince me I’m bad

to hide that you’re worse.
