May be she.

Maybe she hates me,

loving me is not necessary.

 

Maybe she thinks of me in anger,

that she remembers me lovingly is not necessary.

 

Even if I’m worthless, she may still keep me close,

that only something precious is cared for is not necessary.

 

She may ask questions, even if she sees me as a slave,

that she makes me a king is not necessary.

 

She may take a step toward me, even if it leads to harm,

that she would sacrifice her life for me is not necessary.
