Tishok

Body wants rest,

but the mind pounds

with a flood of thoughts.

Ears echo things

one wishes not to hear,

Eyes replay scenes

one longs not to see.

The tongue speaks

when silence is desired,

The heart ignites

for what it knows

was never meant to be.

And yet

one tries to stop,

but if it truly does,

time itself

begins to fade away.
