Scare the Wolves

by @Joshua-Dairy-Fray

A scorched earth Darkness descends There is only suffering The spires offend A cool mist creeps To Confuse the soul Naught but Flames Wait below Cinderstave in ruins A gift to the skies Spit in the face Of their Devine We scare the wolves With a shrieking howl The predators our prey The time is nigh A midnight revelry Dances t'wards night skies Like soot and ash The illusion falls Rotting flesh no savior here A foot in a trap The beast draws near The predators Become the chased Fall to thy knees In futility pray Invade the land Pervert the minds Destroy the man Fuel the lies Dissemination A narrative Driven in promulgation Of their sins The predators our prey The time is nigh A midnight revelry Dances t'wards night skies Like soot and ash The illusion falls Their promised kingdom We watch it topple Terrified hordes shriek and cry They choke and wretch Tears stream their eyes At the stench of their burning shrine A scorched earth Darkness descends There is only suffering The spires offend A cool mist creeps To Confuse the soul Naught but Flames Wait below Cinderstave in ruins A gift to the skies Spit in the face Of their Devine We scare the wolves With a shrieking howl Listen to them, the children of the night. What music they make!

Notes

When my son was learning to speak we would visit my in-laws out in the country and he would hear the coyotes howling and one of the first sentences he put together on his own was "Scare The Wolves" he was so sincere and you could see his little mind racing behing his big blue eyes with images of wolves off in the darkness coming, so when I wrote this album the first song I wrote was for him. To tell him Daddy wouldn't let anything come for him in the dark.
