All Is Fair

As war is decided it lingers

Hangs with each new breaking heart

When comes the time to turn your back

Fighting against the urge to fight

Holding your hand with its loose fingers

Hope will tear the world apart

As fate will turn love into lack

Fear is making will into might

Before losing another second

Start remembering the day

When worrying will be over

No more running for peace of mind

Still assuming that peace may beckon

With higher power in play

No shame in seeking more cover

When life is cold as love is blind

Another scar and you're a warrior

One too much and it's all fine

Any more clues for no meaning

On what was once the form of ash

A fever with no healthy carrier

Striking those who stay in line

Lit once and forever burning

And yet all over in a flash

When lights go out shadows go figure

Tell a story of regrets

Of moments lost beneath the veil

To an unfair causality

In the background of the big picture

Used to making losing bets

Silence may share with us the tale

Of another casualty
