Bullet For The Wounded

Another dawn alights this battered desert

Time has stood still in this wasteland

Blood soaked soldiers painted by decay

The gods have averted their gaze from this corner of mankind (mayhem)

Bombs waking the dead

Sleep deprivation & churning bellies

Cast down the stars one by one

Because I wont waste another bullet...

Another bullet for the wounded

Another fallout, another stalemate

The finger on the atom bomb trigger is getting itchy

Glitch in the system, systematic devastation

These zombie eyes are so hollow

Bombs waking the dead

Sleep deprivation & churning bellies

Cast down the stars one by one

Because I wont waste another bullet...

Another bullet for the wounded

Pale and bloated corpses line the wartorn streets

Machine gun fires as intrepid heroes rise

Who is watching my six? Who's got my back now? God? Man?

Bleeding out and shedding crimson tears

Dear God why have you cast me into the flames?

Mother, Father why have your hearts abandoned me?

And all I crave now is the sweet release of death's raven claws in my veins

Hazy vision, it all seemed so simple in the beginning

Dazed and breathing shallow, inside and out

God please save me one more bullet for my visage

Dear God why have you cast me into this purgatory?

Mother, Father why have your angels abandoned me?

I will not save another bullet for the wounded...

I will not shed not one more solitary tear

I will swallow my reverie, my death rant is my eulogy

Sound the funereal bells, this war is over

I summon the dark

I am a weak timber falling with no one to hear my passing

Heartbeats throbbing in my temples

As I grab this death vehicle & bring it to my face

I wont waste another bullet for the wounded

I think I will save it for myself
